Enjoy local walks along green lanes and country roads amongst the patchwork of fields with their devon-bank hedges full of flowers and wildlife or visit the huge number of attractions and places of interest in the area.

  • Dartmoor National Park with its rugged granite tors, the heather covered moors, cool meandering rivers, and pretty villages lie to the north.
    Visit the High Moorland Visitor Centre at Princetown, Widecombe-In-The-Moor village, renowned by the annual Widecombe Fair and where the cathedral of the moor can be seen, or see tiny animals at the Miniature Pony Centre
  • The coast offers miles of the South West Coastal Path as well as many golden sandy beaches. The livelier resorts of Torquay and Paignton with many amenities and entertainment are 30 mins drive away
  • Totnes and Dartmouth both offer good shops, a castle, museum and river trips along the river Dart, as well as a weekly market and swimming pools.
  • For children, the Woodlands Leisure Park and Sorley Tunnel Adventure Farm are both nearby
  • Dartmouth Golf and Country Club with its championship golf course is 4 miles away
  • In Plymouth, you can find the National Marine Aquarium as well as historic Plymouth Hoe where the first pilgrims left for America from the Mayflower Step
  • Paignton Zoo Environmental Park and the steam train rides of the South Devon Railway and the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway are also popular
